Where have we been . . . the baseball field!

For quite a while Kaden and Trevor have been telling us that they want to play baseball. This year they finally got their chance! I had no idea what kind of time commitment baseball would be. Well, let's just say that we have basically lived at the baseball field for the last couple of months!!! We had a lot of fun though. Kaden and Trevor had a really fun time and they learned a lot!

Kaden started out on the pitching machine. Kaden did really well. He put everything he had into playing baseball. At the beginning of the season Kaden's coach told all the boys to go home and practice swinging their bat 50 times every night. Kaden went over and above that - he decided that he would do it 100 times! Kaden was the smallest person on the team. When they were passing out shirts some of the moms were trying to decide which boys would get the large shirts (most of the most of the mom's wished they had ordered a large instead of a medium). When they came across the small they were surprised and wondered who in the world would have ordered their son a small. The shirt fit Kaden perfectly! Kaden was not known as the small kid though - he was known as the boy with wheels. Every game someone would mention to us how fast Kaden could run. They would say, "That kid has wheels!" Kaden did a great job! His team won the 7-8 league championship. It was a fun season!

Trevor played T-Ball. Trevor did really well. All we had to do was give him the basics and he was off. It is pretty entertaining to watch a T-Ball game. The kids are cute and they try really hard. Basically everyone gets to bat every inning. When the ball is hit the person who catches the ball always throws it to 1st base (unless it is the last hitter and then they throw it home). The kids were always really excited to be the last hitter because that meant that they got a home run! Trevor was really good at playing the pitcher position. Most balls would come to that spot and Trevor got really good at throwing it to 1st base! He has a good arm! Trevor got a little bored with T-Ball toward the end of the season. He is looking forward to next year when he can do the pitching machine!
