California - Day Five

Since we arrived on Sunday the weather in California had been getting hotter and hotter.  Friday was the hottest so far, but that didn't stop Chad from wanting to go on one more bike ride up in Briones.  He talked to Scott and the boys and convinced them that they wouldn't die of heat exhaustion and they agree to go!  They got all of their backpacks ready, complete with lots of food and water, then we all went up the street to the park to send them on their way.

When we got to the park, all the kids wanted to play on the play structure.  It wasn't long before all the kids were hot and sticky with red faces!  Amazingly though, they kept on playing - ahh kids!!

Once they had gotten their fill of running around, we sent the cyclists on their way.  It was about 103, but they were determined to go on one more bike ride.  Chad assured me they would be smart and take it easy.

They had a fun ride, but unfortunately, as they were leaving Briones to come home, Tanner had an accident and fell.  He got a little scuffed up and wasn't very happy about it, he was glad it was the last bike ride!

Meanwhile, the rest of us took it easy!

Later that evening, we got the big boys to babysit while the adults went out to dinner!  We went to a restaurant called the Yankee Pier.  It was really good and fresh tasting!  We had a wonderful time talking and laughing!
