4th of July

One of the things we love about living here is the small town feeling. This feeling is most apparent at the community 4th of July celebration. Everyone gathers downtown at the river to watch the fireworks. We bring our lawn chairs and bug spray and find a good spot along the river.

This year we found a great spot. It wasn't crowded and we were able to see the fireworks being set off. It was fun to have my parents with us this year. They loved being so close to the fireworks. Growing up we sat up on a hill miles away from the fireworks show. It was fun because we could see several shows, but the fireworks were really small.

For a small town they really put on a good show. They don't play music like some of the bigger cities do, but they start off with a community member singing the national anthem. Then the fireworks blast off. They are set off at the waters edge, so the fireworks are big and beautiful.

Happy Birthday America!
