Tanner loves music. He is always humming, whistling or making music in some way. He also loves being in the band at school. This year Tanner asked me if he could be a member of the Jazz Band. I was a little unsure about it at first because of Tanner's homework load, but I told him he could try. Tanner was so excited.
He has practice once a week after school and they get to perform at the band concert. This year the Jazz Band was invited to perform at a Jazz concert at the High School (along with other jazz bands in the area). Tanner was excited not only to perform, but to hear the other bands play.

Tanner is on the far right.
The whole family got to attend the concert. Tanner's band did a great job. Tanner did a great job and he looked like he was having fun! The last band to perform was the high school band and they are really good. There are a couple of young men from our ward in the band.

Tanner has a new goal. He wants to try out for the high school jazz band in a couple of years. There is only one problem - they don't allow baritones in the band. Tanner is exploring other instruments to see which one he can learn. The trombone and the sax are in the running. We'll keep you posted! Oh, and Tanner also wants to learn how to play the violin and the piano! Images of the One Man Band are coming to mind!
Here is Tanner and his band performing one of their songs. This is mainly for family, but everyone can enjoy!
