More Christmas lights

Since the Kreys came on Christmas Eve, they didn't get to see the lights at Temple Square, so we decided to take another trip to the temple.  Before we went there though, we stopped off at the Tree of Life in Draper.

The tree got it's name because it was created to symbolize the tree in Lehi's vision of the Tree of Life  found in the Book of Mormon.  LDS Living reported that it cost over $12,000 and the Christmas "Tree of Life" took four men working from eight in the morning to eight at night for three and a half days.  When finished, the entire holiday light display cost $40,000.

It was pretty impressive!

After our little side trip we headed up to the Salt Lake City temple.  It was pretty cold and snowy, but we didn't let that stop us!  It actually ended up being a really nice visit because there was hardly anyone there!

More family photos in front of the Temple.  You can never have too many, right?!

We actually had time to go into some of the buildings and browse.

We also got to see the Christus Statue.  Our kids have only seen it from afar(the line is usually hours long), so it was neat to be able to take them up to see it!

I love the reflecting pool in front of the temple!  It's fun to take pictures using the pool!

Another wonderful night at the temple!
