Temple Square

One activity everyone wanted to do was see the Christmas lights on Temple Square! I love going to see the lights!  It never gets old.  I would go every year if I could!

Before we left we decided to have a little girl time and to get into the Christmas mood.  How else, but by painting our nails Christmas style!  Ashlyn was all for it!!  I went with the Santa's belt buckle and Ashlyn went with Christmas stripes.  Mom pampered us by helping us paint!

One thing we learned from our trip last year was we needed to get reservation for dinner.  We froze for a while waiting in line last year, so this year we were proactive.  We decided to make reservations for the Garden Restaurant on top of the Joseph Smith building!  The restaurant is one of the two that looks out over the temple, so we thought it would be fun to eat there!!

When we got to the top we immediately took the kids over to the big picture windows to take in the beautiful view of the temple!  Pretty awesome view if you ask me.

We enjoyed our dinner at the Garden restaurant.  It was a great atmosphere and the food was good!

One of the fun things they had was a really cool mailbox for letters to Santa.  They gave Devon, Austin and Ashlyn a little letter to fill out and put in the mailbox.

It is always interesting to see what the kids put on their letters.  Often times it is totally different from what they told me they were asking for - as was the case with Austin (X-Box???)!  Love that, especially two days before Christmas!

The kids had fun filling out their letters and putting them in the mailbox.

Ashlyn couldn't quite reach, so Kaden and Trevor jumped up to help her!  What good big brothers!!

Once we were done eating, we bundled up and headed out to see the lights up close!  It was a beautiful night.  The lights sparkled everywhere.  It was pretty packed with people, but we still enjoyed being there!

This is one of my favorite pictures of the temple!  It reminds me of the famous picture of the temple with the red leaves.  I didn't have red leaves, but red lights were to be found in abundance!

We loved being there with my parents!  I'm so glad my kids have been able to see and get to know both of their grandparents!
