Our good friends, the Taylor Family, came back to the States for a visit and we were able to spend several days with them. We were really excited to see them again. Our visit started out with a birthday party for Mylee. Since the Taylor's were traveling from Mexico we got to get Mylee's birthday cake. It was fun to pick out a "girl" cake!

It was great to have everyone together again. We had pizza and cake and then the kids played while the adults talked. Hours passed by quickly.

During the week we also got to hang out at the pool, go to the movies and have homemade ice cream.

On Saturday we decided to take a trip down to Mammoth Caves National Park. The Taylor's have never been there and we were excited to go again. The only problem was we decided to go last minute, so we weren't able to call ahead and reserve a tour. By the time we got to the Caves the guided tours were full. We were able to go on the Discovery Tour. It's a self guided tour that allows you to go into the Rotunda, one of the largest rooms in the cave. The tour is about 3/4 of a mile. It was fun, but we wish we could have gone on a longer tour. I guess we will just have to go back again!

We learned a couple of new things during the tour that we didn't learn on our previous tour. One of the most interesting was the cave was once used as a turberculosis hospital. It was believed that the cave air would help cure the sick. Unfortunately, this theory proved false.

Going into the caves was a nice break from the heat outside. It was refreshing to breathe the cool air. As you leave the cave you slowly start to feel the heat again. The nice thing is you are sidetracked by the beautiful scenery.

After our cave tour we stopped in at Trogobites for lunch. We enjoyed and nice break before our journey back home. Ailee was sitting across from me during lunch. I had to take a couple of pictures of her because I was getting a kick out of watching her enjoy her hot dog. She loves the camera and flashes the cutest smiles when I take her picture!

Before piling back into the car we took a short walk in the woods. It was tranquil and beautiful. I loved seeing the sun break through the branches of the trees, illuminating the already beautiful leaves. Chad always makes the comment that his dream job is to be a National Park Ranger. Not a bad office to work in all day everyday.

We had such a fun time with the Taylor Family. It was wonderful to pick up where we left off. We will miss them when they go back to Mexico, but we look forward to the adventures we will have when they come back again!
