A fire pit of our very own

The boys have been busy working on requirements for scouts.  Both Trevor and Kaden had a requirement that centered around a fire pit.  Trevor asked me if he could make a fire pit in our backyard and surprise everyone with it.  I thought it sounded like fun, so we set out to make it happen.

Trevor and I figure out the dimensions of the pit and then went to the store and purchased the materials.  When we got home Trevor and Kaden cleared the area an dug a hole for the fire pit.  Once that was complete the three of us set up the stones.  Kaden also helped chop up some wood for the fire.  The other boys didn't really know what we were doing.

Then on Friday night Trevor took the family out to the backyard and showed them the surprise!  He had also set up a table with hot dogs and stuff to make s'mores!  Everyone was very excited!!

We had a great evening around our very own fire pit.  We did have to share the space with the misquotes, but that's part of living in this neck of the woods!  I see many more fun evenings in our future!
