One thing they all wanted to do was go fishing with Papa, so we gathered up all the gear and headed to the local fishing lake. The lake is great because it has a small beach at one end and then the rest of the lake you can fish from. The beach was great for the kids who didn't really want to fish very long. Everyone had a great time!
While most of the kids went fishing with Papa and the dads, the moms and the littlest kids hit the outlets! We actually had a purpose - clothes for the family picture. Most of us had what we needed, but there were a couple of items of clothing some of us still needed. We had fun hunting down the items, while fitting in a little play time!
Before the reunion started we made a schedule of events and a schedule for meals. It was great to have the schedule because we didn't spend half of our time deciding what to do! Misty was the in charge of dinner on Tuesday and she did a great job! She made us all yummy homemade pizzas. We filled up our plates and squeezed into a spot at one of two kitchen tables! A little crowded at times, but so fun to be eating all together in the same room!
After dinner my cousins came by for a visit. It was wonderful to see them - it has been a long time since I have seen many of them. Most of them have several kids of their own now. It was like old times, talking and laughing!
The kids all hit it off right away. This was the first time that they had met each other, so you never know how it will go, but it didn't take them long to warm up to each other. They took the front yard to play games and run around!
This was the only time we would be able to see them on our trip, so I'm glad we were able to make it work! My Aunt and Uncle will be on their way to Palmayra soon for a two year mission!
