Utah - Day Three - Family Pictures

Ahh, finally, family picture day!  Everyone's favorite day!  We had all prepared and we were trying to stay nice for the picture.  Chad was a little bit daring though.  He decided to get up extra early and go on a bike ride.  He was pushing it a little and when he got back, I found out why.  It was still dark and he was going around a turn too fast and he took a nasty fall.  Amazingly nothing happened to his bike and his jersey wasn't ripped, but his skin didn't fair so well.  He had major road rash on his stomach, legs and arms.  I'm so glad he is okay, but come one, on picture day!!!!

There was much discussion about where, when and how we would do our family picture.  Timing, lighting, naps, food and location were all critical parts of the puzzle.  With a group this size you have a lot to consider, but in the end, you just have to go and hope for the best!  That is what we did and I think we got a great shot!

We chose the waterfalls at Thanksgiving Pointe.  I actually didn't even know they existed, but it was a really pretty spot!  Unfortunately, we got there a bit early and the waterfalls weren't on yet, so our family picture is void of a waterfall.  They did eventually come on, so we did have them in the background on some of our shots.  The people are the important part, though, right!

The kids did a good job.  Posing for pictures is not their favorite thing.  They would much rather have gone for a swim in the water right next to us.  Their favorite part, though, is always the crazy shot with Nana and Papa!

We also had some time left over for individuals and family shots!

I love that my parents joke around!
The walk to get to the base of the falls is very pretty.  You enter the park at the top of the falls.  We enjoyed watching the water rush down to the bottom of the falls!  The boys even stuck their feet in the water!

After the big production was over, Misty, Lindsay and I drove over to mall to pick up our race packets for the 5K we and my three oldest boys were going to run the next day!  Very exciting!  This is Kaden, Trevor and my first race!

I took this picture through a mirror!

Once we returned we took the kids and headed back to Thanksgiving Pointe, this time to the Dinosaur Museum.  The museum was a big hit with the kids!  They loved the interactive exhibits.  They get you hooked with the first exhibit you enter.

Then onto the main exhibit.

Another favorite is the water room.  There's something fun about splashing water that the kids just can't pull themselves away from.

The dinosaurs in this museum are so friendly!

Watch out kids!

Let's go excavating!

I think the adults need a nap!
Having fun with Aunt Misty!!

Later in the evening, we celebrated Father's Day with Dad, a little belated!  It was fun to celebrate my dad in person this year!
