New Years

This year for New Years we celebrated with my parents and our friends the Hancocks. Our friends just recently moved back to our neck of the woods, so it was really fun to have them celebrate with us.

New Year's Eve just wouldn't be the same without our traditional spread. When we lived in Michigan we discovered a wonderful deli called Zingermans. They have delicious breads and deli meats. Luckily, for us, they have mail order. We also have our favorite christmas treats. It is usually more than we can finish, but we still have to try . . . right!?!

As midnight approach we called all of the boys downstairs to watch the ball drop. We grabbed some sparkling cider and the wine goblets provided by the Hancocks. We all got into the spirit of the new year! Even Tahoe joined in on the fun!!

As promised Chad had a special surprise for anyone that stayed up till the New Year! The boys were excited to get a Klondike bar as their first official food of 2011!

What can I say . . . he's talented!

Ahhh yes, the traditional kiss! My favorite part!

On New Years Day we enjoyed sleeping in, eating cinnamon rolls, and watching the Rose Parade and football. We also took some time out to take a walk along the river. We underestimated how cold it was outside, so our walk was shorter than most. The boys still enjoyed running along the trail and throwing rocks into the river. We also had a little entertainment from the dogs. The Hancocks brought their dog, Moose, to our house. He wanted to show Tahoe who was boss. As we were nearing the end of the walk someone started throwing a stick to Tahoe. Tahoe would pick it up in his mouth and then all of the sudden Moose would run up and steal the stick right out of Tahoe's mouth. It was pretty funny to see a little dog taking on a much bigger dog! The boys thought it was hilarious! It was a great way to end a great holiday.
