Yesterday after we got home from church, Kaden asked if he could teach the lesson for Family Home Evening tonight. We told him that he could and he immediately began preparing his lesson. He picked up the Friend magazine and began looking for a story that he could share with all of us.
Kaden's primary lesson on Sunday was about treasures in our lives. He brought an envelope home with a picture of a treasure box on the outside of the envelope. Inside of the envelope were small pieces of paper with some of the things that Kaden treasures written on them. One of the pieces of paper had the word testimony written on it.
Tonight, we got a late start to our Family Home Evening because Trevor had a baseball game that went into extra innings, but Kaden was determined to share his lesson with us. He chose a story from the Friend entitled "Growing a Testimony" and read it to us. The story was followed by a few questions about strengthening our testimonies, which the rest of the boys eagerly answered. He ended the lesson by sharing a really sweet testimony.

Every once in a while, you have an opportunity to step back from the demands of everyday life and realize that all of the teaching, correcting and praying that you do on behalf of your children might just be having an impact. Tonight was one of those nights!

while seeing your children doing well when they are young is a wonderful thing - seeing the marvelous people they become when THEY are the parents is even better! You are doing such a great job- I guess it might have just been worth it!
love you
