Dallin & Tahoe

Our nephew Dallin shares a special bond with Tahoe. The last time my sister and her family visited us, Tahoe was still a puppy and Dallin was a little afraid of dogs thanks to a terrifying encounter with some Doberman's when he was younger. It took a few days for Dallin to warm up to Tahoe during their first visit, but by the time their visit was over, Dallin and Tahoe were best friends.

A few days before their arrival, Shannon mentioned to me that Dallin had been describing how he and Tahoe would greet each other when they arrived at our house. I'm not sure if the greeting went exactly as planned, but they were both happy to see each other. Dallin's interest in and concern for animals is amazing. He loved to play with, feed, walk and groom Tahoe and, of course, he had to sleep right next to Tahoe every night. I love this picture of Dallin in Tahoe's crate (Dallin didn't actually sleep
in the crate just next to it). Dallin and Tahoe are definitely kindred spirits!

We really enjoyed getting reacquainted with Dallin during their visit. He is a bright, kind and caring young man with a very inquisitive mind. I noticed during several conversations with him (mostly about Tahoe) that he doesn't just ask questions for conversation's sake, but he asks questions to explore and learn new things. It was great having Dallin here. He is a great kid!
