Happy New Year!

The boys were really excited to bring in the new year. They all wanted to stay up until midnight to watch the ball drop! Devon tried really hard to make it all the way, but didn't quite make it. He kept falling asleep, so we would ask him if he wanted to go to bed. He adamantly said, "NO!" Well after giving him plenty of chances to stay awake we finally picked him up and took him (kicking and screaming) up to his bed. He was so mad that he came out of his room and only made it to the top of the stairs before he fell asleep! What a little trooper!!

The other boys made it without any problems. We watched a movie that happened to finish five minutes before midnight. We quickly turned the TV to Dick Clark's Rockin' New Years Eve show. Kaden was excited for the ball to drop. He asked me earlier in that evening if I would take a picture of the ball! Here is my attempt. You would have thought we were in New York - right! There wasn't a lot of ruckus at our house, but there were smiles all around when 2009 became 2010.

We started off our the New Year right - we got to sleep in (a little)! Chad, Trevor, and Kaden went to play football in 14 degree weather while the rest of us stayed at home and sipped hot chocolate. When the boys got home from football we all enjoyed watching the Rose Parade. It is amazing to see the new things they do every year! After the parade the boys headed outside to play some more football. This time Tanner and Devon joined in on the fun. It was still pretty cold, but they had a lot of fun.

While I was taking pictures of the game, I turned around to see Austin trying to open the door so he could get in on some of the action! What a cute boy!!

We had a wonderful 2009! We are grateful for the many blessings we received. We look forward to the fun that 2010 will bring! Happy New Year Everyone!
