Krey's Visit

In October we were very excited to have our cousins come visit us! We hadn't seen them in a long while and they also had a new addition to the family! We finally got to meet little Arie!! She is such a sweetie. The boys were all really cute with her. Her family really loves her. Mason and Zach are always watching out for her. They often have requests for which outfit and accessories she wears. Layne is excited to have her little girl - she is such a great mom! Aaron is such a proud dad. He was so fun to watch. He enjoys getting little things for Arie. During their visit Layne and I had a good time doing a photo shoot with Arie. It was so fun!

The boys really enjoyed being together with their cousins. They always pick up where they left off. Tanner and Mason are bosom buddies. It is amazing how similar they are. They are both the oldest, they both have a special bond with their Nana, they both love to read and they both have a love for Star Wars! They had a great time hiding in closets, playing Star Wars, and just hanging out.

Zac and Kaden are a lot alike also. They both love sports, they are the second oldest, and they both have a lot of energy. They just want to have fun so pulling Trevor and Devon along with them is a given.

I felt a little bad because we didn't have very good weather during their visit and the boys were in school part of the time. Luckily, Mason and Zac had homework to do so it wasn't too bad. On one of the few days we had decent weather we took everyone downtown to go on a walk by the river. It was dusk and the sky and the water looked beautiful! The boys had a lot of fun throwing rocks into the river. The adults enjoyed walking and talking!

Unfortunately, near the end of the Krey's visit Kaden got sick. This was right around the time that the Swine Flu was getting bad. Yep, you guessed it, Kaden got the Swine Flu. It actually wasn't that bad for Kaden. Mostly he had a high fever (that fluctuated from day to day) and he felt lethargic. We took Kaden to the doctor and we were able to get medicine for everyone except for Arie (she wasn't old enough for the medicine). We kept Kaden up in his room away from everyone so that no one would get sick. He was really a good sport about it.

We were all planning to leave to drive to Washington DC for Lindsay's baby blessing a couple of days after Kaden was diagnosed with H1N1. We weren't sure if we should go, but the day before we were to leave Kaden was doing much better so we decided we would go. That trip will be another blog entry. Luckily, no one in the rest of the family (immediate or extended) got sick.

We had a really great time with everyone! It means so much to us that they would make the trip to visit us. We wish we could see each other more often, but we are glad that when we get together it is like we were never apart!

Such great pics! We sure did have fun! No worries about the weather - we just loved being able to hang with the Monroe clan! We sure do love you guys - and the boys are always asking when we can go back! I love the pics with Arie - I've gotten so many positive compliments! You are so talented! Now you need to come our way so that you can take some family pics (at least when I can finally get rid of this weight!!) Thanks again for the wonderful hospitality! Hotel Monroe - YOU ROCK!
