Look Mom, No Hands!

For the past several months, Austin has been able to walk . . . technically. With four older brothers, however, he has had the luxury of not having to do much walking. They haul him around in their dump trucks, carry him around like a doll and generally take him wherever he wants to go. Smart kid.

Yesterday, something got into Austin and he decided that we was going to start walking. He even surprised us with his ability to stand up from a sitting position without holding onto anything to help him up. We'll have to wait to see if his interest in walking persists or if he gives in to the enticements of his older brothers.

Watching our boys learn to walk is always a little bittersweet. On the one hand, we are excited for them for their big accomplishment. On the other hand, however, it is a little sad to realize that they are growing up quickly.

We have those same dinosaur slippers, in about that same size. They have always been one of my favorites - I think they are so cute! Not that we really NEED slippers around here...
