We Love the Olympics!

We are so excited that the Olympics have started. We had fun watching the opening ceremonies last night. The boys wanted to stay up to see the torch. Trevor was the first to fall asleep. Devon was a little more determined. He was starting to fall asleep so we tried to put him to bed, but he wouldn't have it. Chad told him that he could only stay up if he ate some ice cream with us :). Devon's response was a resounding, "Okay!" A couple minutes after finishing his ice cream Devon started getting droopy eyelids. He fell asleep about ten to fifteen minutes before the torch made it's way into the stadium. We tried to wake him up to see the torch, but it was no use.

Kaden almost didn't make it. About ten minutes before the torch came in Kaden said he was going to bed. He walked upstairs, but he came back downstairs a minute later. I think he heard the TV announce that the torch was coming in a couple of minutes. Tanner did the best. He was wide awake the whole time!

Today we had fun watching the ski jump, speed skating, the luge, and the moguls. We really got into watching Apolo Ohno skate. He is really fun to watch. His first qualifying round was amazing! He is so fast!! It is really fun to watch him skate. After watching a couple of races, Tanner got his roller blades out and started racing around the room. He was having so much fun that the other boys had to join in. They had fun racing around the couches (our short track).

We let the boys stay up a little past their bedtime so they could watch Ohno go for the gold. We were a little disappointed that he didn't get the gold, but we were excited that he and Celski got the Silver and Bronze. The moguls were also cool to watch. Congrats to Kearney and McPhie. They were awesome! They make it look so easy. Go USA!!

We love the Olympics over here too! :) Brandon is really into it this year, but it's hard to try to explain the rules of some of the sports when I don't even understand them myself...
