Well Done Please

Every since Kaden started eating solids, he has preferred his food a little darker than most people. In fact, most people wouldn't even attempt to eat the well done food that Kaden loves. For several years, he would toast his bread on the highest setting three times in a row before it was dark enough for him to eat. Bread basically turns to charcoal after two times through the toaster on high. We finally broke down a couple of years ago and purchased a supertoaster for Kaden. This thing turns the bread black if you turn it much past three. Kaden, of course, cranks it all the way to ten.

Kaden gets his fondness for carbon-flavored cuisine from his Papa. It must be something that skips a generation because no other family members share this fondness for blackened food. In keeping with Kaden's preference for torched fare, we tried our best to incinerate at least a portion of each of his birthday meals. I am sure that if he had been preparing the meals that day, that they would have been darker, but he seemed to enjoy them nonetheless.
